The directory of the University of East Sarajevo, headed by Rector Milan Kulić, extended congratulations to its many Russian friends on the great and sacred holiday of Victory Day, May 9.
‘This day is a symbol of the unparalleled heroism, unbending will, and spiritual greatness of our ancestors,’ the rector emphasized. ‘For the Russian and Serbian peoples, May 9 is not merely a historical date, but the foundation of our shared identity. History irrefutably proves that our peoples have always stood on the right side of history, shoulder to shoulder, defending the ideals of freedom, justice, and human dignity against the darkest forces of destruction. The bonds binding the Russian and Serbian worlds are inseparable and truly fraternal. They were forged in the crucible of the gravest trials of the 20th century and reinforced by the commonality of our spiritual values. Our unity is a living legacy that we are duty-bound to preserve and pass on to future generations.’
Milan Kulić noted that today we are facing unprecedented challenges.
‘Amid modern geopolitical transformations, our joint resolve to resist any attempts to falsify history and distort the truth about the present is taking on particular significance,’ the rector stated. ‘We firmly condemn attempts to diminish the feat of the warrior-liberators and to replace historical facts with political expediency. Our struggle for historical truth is a struggle for an honest future in which there is no place for revanchism or neo-Nazism.’
‘May the memory of the Great Victory continue to serve as a source of our inspiration and unity. I wish you good health, peace, prosperity, and new achievements in the name of our fraternal peoples! Happy Great Victory Day!’
